This is a song about someone who is lost in faith and is searching for a concrete sign of God. Their cries are answered by a conversation they have with God assuring them he is real. God lets them know He has given them everything they need to prosper. Asking them to receive Him as their creator and guide. This person is crying - (This moisture comes from my eyes, it glistens, it glistens). Saying I have nowhere else to turn to - (There’s nowhere left to go now) I’m willing to try things your way and give my life to you even though I’m hesitant of You being real.- (If you teach me, I’ll listen). Person realizes they are unsure of the road they are heading down and the choices they have made allowing sin to tempt them - (A favorite time for mistakes, in salt lakes we all shake). They are willing to give their life to God but are still unsure if God is real - (Consider me your apprentice, repentant, yet hesitant) They then ask God to give them a sign He is real - (Please show me a sign). They ask God to come into their life and take the reins - (Come inside). God tells them to kneel to him, also telling them I created you - (Kneel, remember who built your home, I built you flesh and bone). This person feels God’s presence and sees someone talking to them - (This image comes from somewhere, who is it? Spiritual visit?). They believe this is too coincidental for it to not be God - (Coincidence is one thing. Overwhelming, immaculate timing). They realize their denial before is false and decide they should hold their faith in God - (Everything we had is gone, something new must come up strong now). In feeling God’s presence and hearing his words they say they feel this is the choice they are meant to make and give their trust to God, crying out they love God - (I feel like I belong, and I trust you and I love you). God tells them to remember what I’ve just told you and tells them he will never leave them - (Remember what you hear and I’ll be still right here). This person feels they are split between the decision of giving their life to God or continuing down their unrighteous path all these years(and I’m torn between halos and demons, all these words with cryptic meanings, separate seasons). With everything they have been through, they feel this is the choice they have to make - (all these issues and mixed up feelings and I have to choose). God asks them to see what he has done - (Look around) God reassures them he breathed life into them from the dust of the ground - (I lift you off the ground). I made you woman, so you can enjoy the life I gave you - (I snapped your rib made a lover so you could share each other) God tells them they must submit to Him - (Kneel) God then ask them to keep him on their mind and follow Him - (Remember) |
