To me, this is about BDSM. Quite a few of Glenn’s songs are. Devil’s Plaything, Her Black Wings, Little Whip, It’s Coming Down (an absolutely insane video), Pain is Like an Animal. In Samhain Glenn would sometimes wear a bondage mask while performing. You also have songs like Mother of Mercy and Human Pony Girl. He sings “rack your body on the left and right.” Tied to a rack. Rip your body I take to mean flogging and the pain is taking the body to another plane. Also, “wrap the snake in between your legs” isn’t subtle. But that’s just like my opinion man |

This song means overcoming depression to me. I know Michael dealt with it. It’s a song about putting all the negative behind you and moving forward in a positive way. It can be difficult when depression can make it hard to do the most basic things. “See no evil in all direction” and “hear no evil in all directions” is a change of outlook. “I’m standing here on the ground, the sky above won’t fall down.” The worst isn’t going to happen. Standing here on the ground reminds me of practicing mindfulness. “Resolution of happiness, things have been dark for too long.” Those words hit me hard. I’m tired of feeling down and I deserve happiness. We all do. I think it’s an affirmation of loving life and not letting the negative get you down. |

| To me it’s about overcoming depression and the thoughts that come with it. I have to remind myself that the worst thing isn’t going to happen. The sky won’t fall. The feeling of “things have been dark far too long” and finding love you lost are about accepting yourself. Off course I could be wrong. Considering Michael suffered from depression it’s not a stretch. | |
