There's little to no explanations for this song, I've researched and most of the things you'll find are reviews only, all the things I'll explain, are based off of my opinion and connecting the dots from what Steve has said, knowing his opinion in making music and how he creates it, i think this song can have two meanings, one, either the literal meaning of it, being war, or could mean something else. If this song is meant to talk about wars, i think it reffers to the soldiers on the battlefield, probably trying to pressent the fear the victims feel. In one of Steve's youtube videos, he used his own school reports as a way of explaining some of his songs, wich means maybe he connects his childhood/truma through his songs, he may not say it directly but he implies it heavily. He had to run away from war since he was a child, perhaps he is trying to explain that fear he felt through this song, maybe not reffering to his personal experience but generally people suffering cause of it. He sings this song in a very deep and dark manner, wich further implies the seriousness of what he sings. "this is the war that you searched for" perhaps this could be a soldier adressing and degrading the victims suffering from this war, being ruthless and cold, maybe trying to show just how cruel the ones leading wars can be. These parts of the song "the unknown speaks ridiculous" "with a deathpack on his back" "this is the way the enemy looks at the war, motherfucker" "Reload hold on the aim is in your head now" "time is over now" This could potentially mean, the victims edventually get caught, and accept their fate, as they get killed with no remorse, "the unknown speaks ridiculous" no one knows what to expect in moments like those. In conclusion I think he tries to show the cruel reality of wars through this. A lot of the songs in the Tanzomat album, reach different topics, but with a common ground, that being how some people do not think twice before doing something, and not learning anything from it, like Angel Eyes, Electrocution and Save the Hate. I think this is the real meaning to it but As for a second guess to what this song could mean, could represent failed relationships, as he often sings about love, either in a painful way or a beautiful way. |

| I think the song is trying to present the state of despair the person he is singing about is feeling, perhaps the loss of his parents/loved ones, the fact he is calling out for his father and mother could indicate that, "bring me to a better place" "there's someone who needs me now" "it's a sweety person with a sweety face" as mentioned that could potentially be a love interest "where are you? Im so sad" suffering after them, the hall of souls for short, could be the hall of the "dead", wich he knows he can't reach | |
