Radiohead – A Wolf at the Door (It Girl. Rag Doll) Lyrics 1 year ago
@[fatboyinawagon:51617] This sounds pretty reasonable but what does he mean when he says "flan in the face" over and over and "get the eggs"? When I heard it I thought it was about a drug deal gone wrong sort of, or a break in of a drug dealer or something. So I thought they said "get the x" meaning ecstasy pills. But then I thought wait wtf does flan in the face mean.

Nine Inch Nails – Right Where It Belongs Lyrics 1 year ago
I like coming to this website to see the general public's misunderstanding of some of my favorite songs. I was learning this on piano and I looked up the lyrics and then I thought wait... I gotta see how people are going to project their own life onto the song lol or mishear the lyrics. And I'm not disappointed. The highest voted comment is mishearing the lyrics even though he very clearly says woods and trees not words and retreat. Then goes on to overthink the lyrics.

The song is about exactly what he describes. What if the world is not material fixture but your own dream. Like a lucid 80 year dream. This is literally a real possibility and something that is much more common to ponder and actually believe in the Eastern parts of the planet. So it's very well worn thematic territory which is why it's easy to tell what the song is about once you know about it. Philosophically you might call this Idealism or Solopsism.

Anyway, materialist worldview says everything is made out of particles and that matter exists first, then consciousness comes second. But the problem is that particles don't exist they only appear to. What really exists is an infinite energy field that makes ALL matter by way of intense vibration. Not vibration of particles, the vibrating itself makes the energy field appear to you as a particle. But nothing is really separate. Which begs the question, who or what is doing the vibrating? Who is making things vibrate the way in which they are? Who holds it all together, creates it in real time and maintains it?

Well, it could be You. Or "me". But is there a difference? It's all part of the dream, the perception. Who is the perceiver? God? What if you're God but you forgot? What if you're the One Being? A One without a Second?

This is the basis for every religion but truth gets garbled and repeated and mixed up and confused. People in Jesus' time weren't ready for that kind of information. Too deep and they wouldn't understand. Have to know your audience, right?
