| Meg & Dia – Love Is Lyrics | 10 months ago |
| Love is demonstrated to be something with various amounts of deserving, taking time to get, and something that requires a bit of perseverance. A simple song about love decorated with a quirky piano solo, drums, clapping hands... Wow, has the generic fantasy of a family church community, without all the actual problems it could have. | |

This song eithers associates with loss of a significant other in terms of a more alive state, being that this talks about; "You're somewhere else with someone real You're laughing in their arms While I'm in the dark," This is very obvious about the other person moving on, while the chorus goes on about the Heart-Shaped Hologram, being metaphorical about nostalgia and not moving on; "I keep you in a heart-shaped hologram I take you everywhere I am It almost seems like you're with me Even though a heart-shaped hologram Could never love me back or hold my hand I still don't know how to let you go," The titular Hologram is the singer reliving memories and generally clinging onto them, being quite lost in how to actually let this go. It is not literally a hologram, just the idea and memory of a person. |

The song to me is literally about self-destruction, emphasized with "I can't help but break it down, I've got a heart that's full of mushroom clouds, When it's self-destructive, Like I'm wired to delete, Anything that might be good for me..." This showcases that it might be about the self-awareness of self-destruction, and how they can't help themselves so far. It says "self-destructive" and references wrecking balls, mushroom clouds, and "I calculate the best ways to make it fall". This infers an element of self-sabotage also. The hopeful element to this main theme is; "But soon I'll find the way, To build up something beautiful that stays..." and "This could be the last time that I undo, The standing bridge that's taking me straight to you..." This ends with promising to build a bridge that will help better the relationship. A simple and not-so-subtle song, but a fun beat with a helluva-good chorus! |
