The song is actually about Robert's groupie, Audrey Hamilton who he met on the final US tour in 1977, when she became his "tour wife". Their relationship ended abruptly whe Roberts son died suddenly and he immediately flew home while she was out shopping in New Orleans. He actually confirms this and give her a shout out during an interview he did about the album In Through the Out Door in 1979. I assume the references to rock bands at the end of the song are because she moved on to bang other band members including Ace Frehley with whom she had a daughter. |
