@[DestinyOnToast:50085] I think it is about the boredom of everyday life and using an affair to feel alive again. The first lines have clues that this is about people who numb themselves using television… “Hello refinance, a snort of coke” ….These could be ads on TV about refinancing and an anti-drug ad. “Ants just huddling round the glow” ….This is us, all gathered around the TV. “Hurry, cake the make-up A dollar for all we want I'll be there from nine to five Machines take pills to hide their gaunt” ….Make-up tutorials on the internet. Boring, 9-5 job, and us using pills, perhaps anti-depressants to medicate away our boredom. ….The chorus is about us using sex to get some kind of relief. Sounds like someone in a relationship, maybe married, having an affair. They don’t want to do it, know it’s wrong, but they keep meeting because they can’t resist (body urge) and need something to fight the depression of our increasingly automated and disconnected lives. ….Awesome song, not available on any streaming service and missing from the movie soundtrack album (The Invisible) on the 2 big streaming services. I had to buy it from a website and import it into iTunes. It is available on YouTube. |
