| @[litetravelr:51546] thank you so much, it's always so cool to see where inspirations come from and to compare how inspiration comes to you with personal experiences. I write a ton of stuff and I wonder if Connor would write abt this stuff the way I do if he experienced it. and also I didn't know about this festival, these bands are the biggest inspirations to me and the music I write. I was raised on beck and radiohead because my dad, and I've really connected with blur, elliot smith, and bright eyes recently. and again thanks so much this song means a lot to me and it just because that much more special. | |

this is one of those songs that creates peace and stress all in one in a very comforting way. phoebe describes unsettling events in a way that seems like she's personally telling you a story, like an old friend that just got back from a trip. throughout the album connors, and phoebes lyrics give this same effect, and thats part of why this album establishes so much peace whenever i listen to it. why im writing this is because i cant find any information on what event verse 2 actually is. phoebe and connor usually writes about personal events in a real and poetic way so im just wondering on where verse 2 comes from. "It was hot in the arena Good men die like dogs My hero plays to no one, in a parking lot Even though there's no one around He broke a leg and the house came down A smattering of applause A sliver moon and a cover song" |
