Mindless Self Indulgence – Ready For Love Lyrics 1 year ago
"If y'all don't like it, just don't buy it
Like you need to be told"

Here he not only gives the listener the initial "fuck you" for buying the record, but also calls out the absurdity of him even telling them. Everyone already knows that if they don't like something then they shouldn't buy it. This is the response to people complaining about their music. MSI cannot do anything if you don't like their music, it's not their problem.

"My whole sound sucks in stereo
Like you care if it does"*
*There's a bit of confusion around these lyrics, but the second line is almost certainly "like you care if it does."

Here, MSI are saying that their sound might suck, might ruin the vibe of the radio station, but, again, it's not like MSI can do anything about that, nor do the people making that comment actually care if their music makes the radio stations sound bad/if it sounds bad in stereo.
This line says that despite making such criticisms, MSI's critics' day-to-day lives are not actually greatly impacted by their (bad) music.

"(Now I ain't get the rapping and sometimes I forget to laugh motherfucker)
All the way to the bank"

Here, MSI are laughing at their critics (represented in the parentheses) and telling them in response to their criticism that they're making off with a lot of money from their listens, whether their reviews are good or bad.

"I just bought my car a stereo
Used your money for crack"

Jimmy then gives another "fuck you" to the critics here as well as to the fans by telling them that even though they might be giving him money in support of his music, he's still blowing it on crack. He's essentially telling people that they might have been better off giving their money ($30 at the time for this record which is $54.20 today) to a crack addict. He's also laughing at critics for the same reason by letting them know that their money just bought him some crack.

As for the "just" buying his car a stereo, I assume that he'd never had a car stereo before and so he could never know how awful he sounded up until that point. Which, if true would be funny, but regardless, the fact that it's in the song is a big "fuck you" to the critics who told him that his songs "suck in stereo" because he'd never have had any clue. It also might make the "like you care if it does" line more aggravating to critics, because they might actually care and not understand why he doesn't. Now that he has a car stereo for the first time, he might be able to understand why they care so much.

"You want your money back? yo - listen up
No fucking refunds"

Here, he reminds people that they just wasted $30 on this album. That's $30 of crack money that they are never going to get back. Another "fuck you" and another rubbing it in the face of critics and investors.

"I'm still not that cool
I'm just not that great
Two suckers found out a little too late
You thought that this shit
Would right fucking rock
But your friends were right
Cause I fucking suck"

Here, he openly and honestly speaks about the investors who didn't realize sooner that MSI sucked. It doesn't matter to MSI if MSI sucks, but they know that it matters a lot to investors and record labels if MSI sucks. He's basically saying here "well you should've known better!" and "you shouldn't have believed in me making you lots of money."

A deeper look could reveal an inferiority complex hidden deep under layers of nonchalance and being defensive by going on offence— informing people that they suck so that no one can get mad when they do suck. "Well I already told you I sucked, I don't know what you were expecting."

…But that isn't what this song is about.
