Last night when my buddy and I were going back home this song came on and he asked me if I liked it and I told him it was the one songs from DH that seems to be closest to me. I'm only 32 and I have been through a crippling death in the family over 10 years ago followed by an incident that involved bloodshed. The depression itself lasted almost 10 years. When the lyrics said "I need a heart that carries on through the pain when the walls start collapsing again," I almost started crying in front of my buddy and I said to him, "knowing what I have been through, I wonder what kind of person I am now. Do I have a heart that would carry on through the soul crushing pain of death? Not that I'd want it to happen again but I know death is inevitable." |
