After watching the clipshow, my interpretation is this : -The young girl who look anxiously when she come into the school represents a young soul or/and a young doubtfull one - The private primary school symbolize the indoctrination of children, especially of the girl in the clip. - The different shows on the stage are very conventionnal and they represent all the conventional aspect of the life - While most of parents are ecstactic, ven those of the young girl, two of them are boring and young girl too : thisscene represent the fact that lots of people take pleasure in superficial stuff of life, the two parents and the young girl are those who are not satisfyed by superficiality. - The, a young version of the band Ghost come on stage. The young papa Emeritus begin to sing. Papa Emeritus is a the messenger of Satan and his apparition break the routine and the convention with his appearence and clothes. - All the people try to escape to the room or rebeled against this show except the young girl and the two parents, this scene symbolize the fact that most of people can't like that they show us how they conventionnel and shallow. - the first verse of the song talk to the young girl, it's Satan who talk to her through Papa Emeritus, but he talk to the ones who seek a unconventionnal life too. He already knows that the young girl and those who wants un conventionnal life are amongst the dark ones, that's why he can see her (and us) in the darkness, and he perceive the rumble tht's calling her (and us). That's very reassuring cause he knows what she/we are feeling. he knows what it's troubling our mind. That's he tell her:us after. - The second verse explain what is troubling the young girl, and all those who was indoctrinated when they was young, the young Papa tell her/us that Her/Our soul is not tainted even if you've been told so.He breaks the lies of original sin. That 's provoking the rumble and the thunder inside the mind and the soul of her/us. That's symbolizing the begin of wake up. He can see also the scars in her (or us), the scars of culpability from the indoctrination. -The third verse talks about about a candle with a faint glow, it's symbolize the knowledge inside the darkness, The light of individual knowledge and illumination, that's satan bring to her/us that can make seek Him eye to eye, as a frank relationship, no bowing or kneeling, He looks her/us directly in her/our eyes as equals. - The fouth verse introduce the climax of the song and the clip, Satan through papa emeritus tell now there is nothing betwin her/us and Him and their (our) merge is eternal, the pact is near to be sealed. and Its sealed when the young girl is ciriced in taking the hand of papa Emeritus, when he tsing : Can't you see that you're lots without me ?", that's the climax of the clip and the song. In this moment, the young girl (and us who take the hand of satan) accept her darkside and rejected the dogma, She and we are lost without Him cause he awake her and us and he set her and us free. - We see her parents are trying to take away from the papa, they want their daughter keep in the way they choose for her, but it's too late, she doesn't want to be separated from Him and she kept as long as she could his hand into hers. The two others parents are ecstatic viewing this scene. When the parents young girl succeeded to separate her from him, , the music goes crecendo and young papa Emeritus sing the chorus about the rambe, the thunder, and remind that she lost without Him. At this moment, most of the spectator succumbs to a mass hysteria. The parents of the young girl try to comfort her, but she didn't answer to them, she is frustrated and she want to join Papa Emeritus on stage. All of this, shows us how can react people in front of unknown and darkness :by fear, hysteria and in trying to culpabilize and to take away people from they considered as hazardous to them, meanwhile others understand and accept the darkness and unknown. -Then, the school director try to keep way from the micro the singer, the young papa Emeritus, That's symbolize the fact that (religious) authority try to silence the one who want to awake people to the darkness and unknown. -The next scene is the young girl who push the director on the floor and we can see that she use her power to close the doors and make people silly in a big mass hysteria, when the music and the chorus sound more loudly, others try escape the room. This scene represents what happens when we accept the darkside in us, we take our responsibility and we discover our true potential, our inner power, while conventional people are afraid or sink into madness. -The clip take end when the school director unplug the microphone, all the spectators come back to them and goes away, only the two parents alone stay and applause. This scene shows that when the auhority succeed to silence the the one who learn about darkness and unknown. All people flee and only those who feel the call stay. And at the end papa Emeritus geetings the spectators who applause, as Satan accept and greet them who stay and honor Him. |
