Your review of the lyrics gave me even more insight, meaning and depth to a song that is forever one of the most precious and meaningful songs of my entire life. Thank you. At 42 yo I had my first baby. She was born early, a preemie at 3lbs 11oz. Preemies are famous for sleeping only during the day and being up all night... this was especially true for my newborn. I didn't know what to expect at that time as a new mom. I lived in a deep state of love for my tiny baby, I took it all in stride and nothing mattered anymore except her and I and our own quiet world at night alone together.... many nights I would sing this to her as we looked into eachother's eyes. Pure innocent perfect love~ that's what this song means to me. Ava is six yo now.... my love for her and our bond only deepens. And yes, she STILL tries to stay up all night, but Momma says no. Lol |
