To me personally, this song is about being drawn to somebody who is different, possibly broken, maybe somevody you csn identify with...being a person who doesn't find this much at all. In other words, someone special to you. And that feeling is not reciprocated. Amongst the vast reasons this may be for, what you put it should give some indication of what you may get out of it. I'm this case, nothing but the cold shoulder, rejection, maybe betrayal. This person is not the special someone you felt they were or could be simply because they don't see it as you do. For me more personally, this song springs to mind about a certain recent girl I knew. A very covert narcissist, it would seem. Pity. But it is what it is. You want to be up front with someone, throw them the obvious. You want to see what this person, this tragedy, is like on the inside. You sense they may be like you, or compatible, and you feel it in your bones. But there is nothing there. Even if there IS something there. And if there is nothing to see, you see thru them. A narcissist hates it when somevody sees thru their bullshit, and it hurts their ego. This song is no/ of a man calling her out, its of his own mind how he feels after this revelation. Narcissist(my situation) or many others, it's a lack of empathy on one end. They don't see you at all. That means not just you, but your feelings. Your reasons. Your efforts. Possibly even how obviously compatible you SHOULD be. But aren't. Aren't because she doesn't see you at all. |

Introverted man, hurt from the world sd we already know. He hesitates to confide in a like soul. It I'd no easyxsnd it consumes I'm, and he finally decides he wants to. He gives her the key to his heart. Despite being of a similar ilk to him, despite him forgiving her everything symbolic of himself to her, she rejects it. She is unforgiven too. And thus only reinforces the pain and difficulty he has confiding in anyone, in leaving himself vulnerable for another. Easily arguable she made a grave mistake in her rejection, but she made it nonetheless. |
