@[CliffsNotes:49182] uhh, they wrote that song within minutes while on the subway ride going to studio. (Or similar as I recall an interview in the 70s) but ya, wow. We should call up Paul Simon and "Garfuckel" to let them know, because I'm thinking it was inspired by the noisy subway. But hey! I'm sure all that was also what they were thinking in the 10 minute ride! (Even though your interpretation takes 30 minutes to grasp) |

@[an10149449:49181] it's exactly that. It's that, it's similar for some, different for others, but no matter what it is to anyone, it is what we read it as in our own hearts.
To me, it was one girl who was too young for the people the man had around him, as though he was 19 or 20 or whatever, just out of reach to get away unscathed from being with a 16 yo girl. And despite it being true love, possibly "the one" for each other, it couldn't be. Heart wrenching |
