This is definitely one of those songs where you can find a different meaning in it each time you listen to it, especially with its melancholy sound. Sometimes when I'm feeling down, I just put this song on and really hear the darker lyrics and just kind of drift away. In that sense the song almost reads like a suicide note. But other times, when I've been through a difficult relationship, the song feels like a bitter breakup, and other times a love confession. Its one of those very beautiful dynamic songs that can just truly speak to any lister. |

I've personally always imagined this song as being almost like a suicide note. "I'll break them down, no mercy shown, heaven knows it's got to be this time" This feels like that point in your depression where you stop caring and just grow indifferent to everything, even if you hurt the people around you. It's like that point when you realize that your own suicide is inevitable and its only a matter of time before you give in. |
