I know a lot of people consider the lyrics to be about a partner, but when you put it into another perspective, it can be addressed to a parent (acting like I was part of your property) or a friend (trying to make a friendship work but it still fails due to their destructive behaviors). |

Perhaps CheVelle means "raped" as a certain experience or opportunity forcibly taken from them, leading them to feelings of shame... |
