When I was 10 I played this record from my older brother. This opening track... it pounded my system with compressed drums and guitars, organic sounding keyboards, and not to forget: that singing. The range, the vocal determination. Never heard something like this. Later on the spacing in the song struck me - it takes its time to land - stretching out in some parts, the phrasing... The message in the song has spirituality and a world view. Still love it. |
