Rush – Dog Years Lyrics 1 month ago
In a dog's brain
A constant buzz of low-level static
One sniff at the hydrant
And the answer is automatic

It seems to me
As we make our first few circles 'round the block
We've lost our senses
For the higher level static of talk

Sometimes we don't bother to talk, but just go to the hydrant. We don't listen and respond, but just sniff and react.

Rush – We Hold On Lyrics 1 year ago
I fell this all the time. I'm a registered nurse that works 12-hour night shifts... have been for almost 25 years. It certainly does "Cut to the Chase."

Rush – The Speed Of Love Lyrics 2 years ago
From my viewpoint, this song speaks to the principle of Limbic Resonance, the idea that the capacity for sharing deep emotional states arises from the limbic system of the brain. I've experienced this with a friend at work. Though there is no romantic interaction between us, we do have this sort of communication. I think we could truthfully say to one another the lyrics "We don't have to talk, we don't even have to touch; I can feel your presence in the silence that we share."
