Personally to me, this song best describes the situation I'm in right now, since I'm now a sophomore who has a crush on this girl in band. The first verse talks about how a guy has a crush on a girl, and at first it seemed like an infatuation. But as time went on, the feelings grew stronger and stronger up to the point where the guy is unable to face a life without her. Now he wants to be with her forever. The pre-chorus talks about how he's waiting for the day that he talks to this girl he loves and wants to be with, while the chorus repeats how much he doesn't want to be without her. The second verse explains how the guy doesn't have an explanation for how he feels about her, but all that he knows is that the feeling is real and he can't let go due to the feeling being so strong and powerful The pre-chorus and the chorus repeats how he wants to be with her forever, with the outro doing the same as well. Overall, the single itself (which is Foreigner's last Hot-100 top 10 hit, and their last top 40 hit,) talks about how powerful a person's feelings can be for someone that they care about. This best describes the situation I'm in with this girl I have a crush on at band. Her and I are friends, and now the feeling's grown so strong it's uncontrollable, and I don't know what will happen if I have to live without her, but I just can't go on without her.
