A little late to the party but... I hate the idea that "others have it worse so suck it up". By that logic, only the singular person who has it worse than everyone else is allowed to feel bad. "Everyone has problems" isn't supposed to mean "everyone has issues so suck it up". It's supposed to mean "everyone has issues so have some sympathy for people going through sh*t". As well as the fact that emotions are a natural response to external stimuli. What you do with your emotions is a different issue, but having them isn't the issue. |
