| Love – Maybe the People Would Be the Times or Between Clark and Hilldale [Orig Lyrics | 2 years ago |
| maybe this is a song about the Doors and Arthur Lee/Love's disillusionment about their own place in the LA. music scene in comparison? Seems as if the narrator was at a Door's concert and during 'Hello, I Love You', decided it's a rip-off of a Kinks song and kind of retro (obsolete) and decides their time is better spent across the street. Considering the public are choosing the Doors over Love now, and Arthur is no more than a face in the crowd, in the last verses he vows he'll either be back or transcendent of his human form, and if rascism is to blame for Love's fading star, he'll transcend that too | |
