| Art Garfunkel – Wooden Planes Lyrics

It echoes what we all ponder as we age. We reflect and often realize that childhood was "the finest time". "Wooden planes" represent our favorite pastimes, games, and dreams of our childhood. "If the story of my life often makes you sad, remember when we were a chasing after wooden airplanes." is the most poignant line. Often, our lives turn out differently than how we saw the future as kids. And when that happens, you can take comfort in thinking back to our childhood's favorite things. As I write this, I find that the song has many more meanings, depending on the listener. It's a very underrated song. To put my choice into perspective, I am a die hard Beatles fan and the fact that my favorite, most meaningful tune is not a Beatles song, says volumes about how much I love this song. |
