| Tim Cappello – I Still Believe Lyrics | 2 years ago |
| @[m103712220:48144] you were on the right track at first. The song is about waiting for the return of Jesus and everything the author has struggled through in life; while maintaining his faith. Regardless of the difficulty, repeatedly reinforcing the idea that regardless of the loss or hardship,’he will “still believe”. “Forty days” is an allusion to the Bible stories that often used that number (Noah, David & Goliath, Moses, etc. It’s also the amount of time that passed between the crucifixion and ascension of Jesus). I think the waves are representative of the sea of doubt that exists around the faith of any individual but could also allude to depression, as you stated, I suppose. But, I tend to think that it’s still referring to the struggle of maintaining faith in doubtful or painful moments. | |
