i believe this song is in the same vein as Nonphenomenal Lineage, but with a slight twist. it could be about growing up and feeling ostracized/excluded within society and always feeling left out - never committed to society's standards and living rejected. in this narrative, the character is feeling mistreated and different to everyone else's emotions. |

i think this song is about rejection and to be ostracized - similar to Summer Here Kids. the "sir" in the narrative is being pushed away and rejected/replaced by another force, whether it be in terms of business, relationships or life in general. this character is perceived as worthless and is being exploited by the mass at force. |

fun fact: the line sung towards the end "I know that you will understand" is sung by producer Chris Sheldon. i always thought it was Fyfe. |

| Stuck In the Sound – Toy Boy Lyrics

i feel like this song is about a man who is so desperately in love, he's willing to give up everything he has for her.
but in the end, after he slowly sees nothing happening, he realises that she doesn't love him - he begins to hate himself, and the line "I know that you don't want a Toy Boy!" is him saying that she knows she doesn't deserve a good-for-nothing man like him.
but where does he go from here? |
