| I've always felt this song is about Milliways, The Restaurant at the End of the Universe from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, though I have never seen anything confirming that. Milliways was on introduced on the radio series in April of 1978, so it is possible George and/or Harry could have heard it beforehand. The song talks about the universe exploding with people watching as if it is a show, complete with an MC ("We don't seem to know what's happening here folks, it could be all over"). And you can "save your money for a second time around". MIlliways is enclosed in a time bubble that allows people to attend more than once | |
