To my way of thinking, he's really not that into her, and that's why he's been gone such a long time. I also think that deep down, she knows this. When Barbara Lewis sings things like "I'm so happy," I think that's just the character trying to convince herself she's happy. When she sings "Please don't treat me like you did before, because you know I love you so," you can hear in her voice how the character really feels, and it's not happy. Another reason I think this is the line, "It seems so good to have you back again." Who says that? Not a superhappy person, only a person with a lot of doubts. |
