It's an honest atheist. People who believe in God have something to guide them through their day and that's not speaking as to whether it's even true or not.. They are guided by something they believe in. But the atheist, if they are truly atheist, has no real love or passion or "oughtness" guiding them which if taken to it's fullest is very bleak. So I think this song is admitting the bleakness of that reality. I think it's a very hopeless song. |
