@[ChrissyTina:47932] actually I just researched this, and it's both. The booklet that shipped with the CD shows a dual meaning/lyric here, as Eddie often does in songs. The booklet shows the lyric as "violins (ence)." See here for an image of thr booklet page was this appears:

While this site clearly has the lyric specified as "violence" the official insert/booklet that was shipped with the CD shows the lyric as "violins (ence)." So it looks like Eddie wrote this lyric with a dual interpretation and meaning. That being said, I'm still curious if this changes your interpretation? |

@[perhapspsychology:47929] huh? Violins? There is no reference to "violins" in this song whatsoever. There is, however, a reference to "violence," which might sound like "violins." Is this the lyric to which you are referring? If so, I'm curious how your perspective of the song changes now since the thesis of your post relied on your belief that the lyrics mentioned "violins" to support your "emotional" abuse interpretation. |
