this entire album (Nightmare) was written for jimmy the rev who died of an od. m shadows, the rev, and other members of the band had been friends since they were like 7, so naturally ur friend dying is gonna take an album to get over. but basically I feel like they're just mourning him like they had so much to experience still (I have so much to say but you're so far away). they also reference the revs issues in general and how they had been supportive but they feel like it wasn't enough to save him from himself. also how he might have been rather reckless and care free but on the inside was struggling (Lived a life so endlessly Saw beyond what others see I tried to heal your broken heart with all that I could). I also think the rev might very been struggling awhile cus he says (I love you, you were ready The pain is strong and urges rise But I'll see you, when He lets me Your pain is gone, your hands untied) like he's being freed. and m shadows will "see him" basically when God let's him. I also feel like there was unfinished business between the band or m shadows and the rev bc of how the lyrics never quite finish (So far away (so far) And I need you to know So far away (so far) And I need you to, need you to know). whether that's helping him out or stopping something from happening or maybe even resolving an argument. |

JUST A SONG. but it's also art and u don't see many ppl getting pissed at stephen King for writing messed up novels, it's a story, it's art. and usually in this genre it's common to express darker themes. I mean it's pretty clear if ur into this kinda stuff. if u rlly think this masterpiece is that bad then i suggest sticking to indie rock | |

| this song is literally a story explained in the music video. but basically it's a guy who proposes to his gf and she declines so before anything worse can happen (I was weak with fear that somethin' would go wrong) he kills her and performs intercourse w her body and she comes back from the dead and he begs for forgiveness and they get married and are now undead and killing for eternity. | |
