| Now I know this is not what this song was intended to be, but my interpretation is that this song is about someone suffering from PTSD. After suffering some traumatic event (likely war based on the first verse), he was deeply traumatized and now, even later in life, stuck reliving it and stuck in survival mode. Due to this stagnation in his thinking and behavior, he has neglected the rest of his life, including his relationships. Again, I know that this wasn't intended, but it's an interpretation that works really well for me | |
