@[OutCaste:47691] “I think that religion is so ingrained into pop culture and the lives of us all. Religion. in my opinion, is the most human thing.” spin.com interview where she also talks of gatekeepers and being more diverse in the industry instead of shunning people who don't fit the mold, considering the number of metal genres that at one point would shun the religious.

I have no black-and-white info to set the record straight. Courtney said of the song "This song was never intended to be a single. We wrote it in January to be an “angry” pallet cleanser on an otherwise dark, moody atmospheric album. Our mission statement was: “let’s make the most ridiculous song that we can.” (via KillYourStereo.com) It sounds like a condemnation of people of faith who do not adhere to tenants and scripture, instead judging by their own standards (which is human whether within religion or music or elsewhere). Courtney apparently grew up Catholic but switched to Methodist and is intrigued by all religion and spirituality. I don't see her as mocking God but it is debatable if she is mocking people, which could be ironic considering the message I see.
