I think this is about child abuse. Could be sexual abuse, could be abuse by parents. The first verse is the moment you were born, and the person speaking is your mother. Doesn't have to be the moment you're born, can be mothers "love" in general. The other way of interpreting this is a sexual abuser luring a child, making a child love them and think of them as a nice person. Everything seems peaceful and full of love and then lyrics and the song suddenly change. Well now mutually, mentally molested children of a mother (This would pretty well explain being abused by someone close to you, doesn't have to be a mother) Oh no, the ever so popular beating that took you under Oh no, the ever so popular beating that broke your skin I like this verse and got to talk about it a little. Abuse by parents became "normal" and socially acceptable, that's why he says "the ever so popular". Also, when he adds "Oh, no", it almost sound to me as he is mocking an abused child and by that showing that society doesn't care about it, like it's something normal and you're just being a pussy about it. Keep in mind that when you're interpreting soad songs, you don't only look at the lyrics. You also have to listen to the song. Think about how it makes you feel, and most importantly think about Serjs voice. It's almost like he is sometimes serious and sometimes joking around, being sarcastic. Soad is the band that uses sarcasm in a brilliant way, so think about how sometimes they don't mean things they say, it can be quite the opposite. Free thinkers are dangerous (so give your child an idea they can't be free in any way, scare them, and that's also how system wants you to be, not questioning things a lot, not being free and being scared) Blame hate for fate's seed (blame your child for everything bad in your life/blame your hatred for everything) Gonna let you mother fuckers die, gonna let you mother fuckers die (all child abusers deserve to die OR an abused child goes crazy and kills their parents or becomes a serial killer) Well you need the ones you love, love the ones that you need Need the ones you love and love the ones you bleed (they treat you like shit but you still depend on your parents, you can't run away from them, which makes me think this is more about being abused by someone very close to you, maybe some personal experience idk?) I don't know who wrote this, looks like something Serj would write but idk. So one more time i think it's about being abused by someone very close to you. Could be wrong tho |

| I think this is about parents who failed to achieve something in life, so they try to force their children to do it. They want people to recognize them because of their children, to be important because of them. I can be wrong because many people said this refers to bible, but this is the way I see it. | |

I just read the true meaning of this. Danny and Lisa are Darons childhood friends and basically he's talking to them about how far he went with his career. But before i knew this, i though it was about propaganda on media. Sweet Danny and Lisa are reporters on tv or speakers on radio. They take away from the strangest places (they are my escape from reality, telling me what i wanna hear, and that's why they are so sweet). |

| Ekatarina Velika – Budi Sam Na Ulici Lyrics | 2 years ago |

| People think about life after death so much they forget to live. You will get answer to your "question" when you get there. That's what the song is about. | |
| System of a Down – Lonely Day Lyrics | 2 years ago |

Hear me out. The song is about a man who went to war and a woman who is waiting for him. Some verses are mans pov and some are womans. And if you go i wanna go with you And if you die i wanna die with you This is obviously woman singing for her man who is far away fighting. They are both lonely without each other. It's the day that i'm glad i survived. This could refer to both man and woman. Of course, the song could simply be about loneliness, but think about this for a sec. |

I don't think the song is about suicide. Suicide is another metaphor. I think suicide here means killing someone you used to be. Forcefully changing yourself to be accepted by others. That would perfectly explain "grab a brush and put a little makeup". That's why it's self righteous, it's socially acceptable. The whole father part is about being scared of people you love the most abandoning you because of who you are. "I cry when angels deserve to die". Angels here are the people with this problem, and they don't actually deserve to die, they only think that because of the terrible picture they have of themselves, the picture that society has created. So basically the song is about forcefully changing yourself and being someone else because you are scared of peoples opinions and judging. Of course, i could be wrong, i probably am, but this is the way i see it and i haven't seen anyone with this kind of interpretation. |

| System of a Down – X Lyrics | 2 years ago |
| When i first listened to this song, instead of "tell your people" i heard "dragon people". I don't think this is on purpose but that got me thinking the song is about chinese goverment and their population control. But now that i know the right lyrics i think it's about goverment trying to control everything, not only population. "Ask your people what is right" is probably ironic, since they don't give a shit about what people think, we will always be the victims of their actions. | |
| System of a Down – Needles Lyrics | 2 years ago |
|
The song is about getting rid of everything that controls your life. That's the parasite. Anything that is comanding you how to live. It could be many things...the media, society, drugs, goverment etc... That is your tapeworm. But because of the rest of the lyrics i think it's most likely to be drugs. I'm sitting in my room with a needle in my hand. Its obviously about using drugs, heroin most likely. But for me, the meaning i relate with the most is that you are the only one who should be under control of your life, and you can't let anyone or anything take that role. |
