Devin Townsend – The Way Home! Lyrics 4 months ago
This song could be the antithesis of "Deadhead." While "Deadhead" might represent devotion to another as a means of achieving salvation from suffering, "The Way Home!" could symbolize liberation from suffering through the recognition of self. (Perhaps too introspective, as Devin has always been...)

"I'm returning to myself with everything I learned from my time with you. Even though we knew and learned from each other, we're still suffering, and I'm trying to understand how I arrived at my own conclusions about who I am—because I still feel empty and disillusioned with myself.
I've faced my own feelings—the ones you tried to hide. It will be difficult to find peace within myself, but I know I will reach it.
Emptiness. Disillusionment. I've wasted my time shining through you, my “Sun Goddess.” I will rise again.
Forgive me, self."

Something like that. Or maybe I've overthought it too much.

“With my face pressed up to the glass”: like a child who wants something desperately.

“And I’m sure you know me well, as I’m sure you don’t”: The dichotomy of knowing a person: we think we know someone completely, but in truth we only know certain parts of them, what we want to show, what we involuntary show, and what others can perceive of us.

"But you just can't tell who you'll love and who you won't":
You will never know how you feel about someone until you meet them.

So, basically is: "I want you so much, You don't know I love You, give me a chance."
