She really loves a guy for what he looks like. It's completely shallow and although she wanted it to be more and thought that if she got to know him better that maybe there was more to him than what is that the surface, there's not. And he's running around with all these other girls and she's sick of it. So even though she likes to look at him, she's over trying to win him. In the end she wants to let go, but there's no hard feelings and they can just pretend it was a happy ending because it wasn't all that deep. He'll always be the really attractive one though when she thinks back on her exes. I can relate to this song because I had this extremely attractive boyfriend that was funny. He was really conceited though and girls were constantly throwing themselves at him and it was exhausting. I always had to wonder about what he was up to, and girls would tell me that he hooked up with somebody and he would deny it of course and after enough of them I was like this is way too much effort. 20 years later, people still bring up how good-looking he was, but I don't regret letting him go. |
