Always felt like this song is about excommunicating from a toxic family member. Even through the pressure of family and society, giving up on someone who you wouldnt ever talk to if you wernt related. Shedding judgement and no longer hiding feelings after a lifetime of supression. In the last verse it describes how, through their self righteous holier-than-thou attitude, they will feel they are right but will lose everyone. |
