To me, this song is about the daily battle with depression/mental illness. You have your good days and your bad days, it’s always there with you (waiting in the winds). Sometimes it’s easy to slip back into depression (I’m a sucker for his charm), but having strength to fight and carry on (I won’t let him win). |

Such a beautiful song, like so much of Lenka’s music. I discovered Lenka just after I lost my dad unexpectedly, 7 months ago. Her music is really helping me through the most difficult time of my life. To me, this song speaks about fear of falling apart and needing to know that the person you love will be there to catch you/hold you if you do fall. That they’ll be there to hold your hand and gradually help you put yourself back together. It relates so much to my relationship with my husband at the moment - all my insecurities about being left alone again due to my mental health. I’m slowing beginning to trust that he will be there, but it’s hard. This song gives me hope. |
