@[_no_reality_:49824] It's about his dog, a blue-eyed Merle named Strider. Bron y Aur is the name of the place in Wales where the song was written. |

To me, this is THE song that separates Zeppelin from all the other 'close but no cigar' bands they generally get name-checked with. Try to imagine Clapton playing this, or Dave Gilmour or Ronnie or Keith or whoever...and they are each and every one of them fantastic guitar players and brilliant artists but none of them has the sort of scope and eclectic taste that Jimmy Page has. His guitar work on this song is just mind-blowing and demonstrates just how deep his musical research has taken him. For most rock guitarists 'folk music' means slapping together something that sounds like Simon and Garfunkel meets Dust in the Wind, for Jimmy Page it means taking a playing style that is hundreds of years old and somehow making it fit brilliantly into a modern (at the time) album. No-one but Page could have done it, no-one but Page ould have even imagined it could be done. |

@[BWoodmeyer:47265] The lyrics are a tribute to Bon Scott - they basically are what Johnson imagined Bon would have said about his own death...if you think about the way Scott lived and died they make a lot of sense. |

@[Boo:47264] Urns You probably should give up since you're wrong. Brian Johnson has stated in interviews repeatedly that Angus and Malcolm played him the music to Back in black and said they wanted a tribute to Bon that was in keeping with his character and personality. Certainly the closest lyrics Johnson ever wrote to Bon's own style. |
