Roger Whittaker – The Last Farewell Lyrics 11 months ago
@[RayGuy:47156] Good analogy or guess. The part that throws me is that part of the song is at this tropical island or land, and then later he apparently is back near England where he sees a foreign flag a raising and in the middle of a war. --------- I was always confused thinking the war he was in was where he was at beginning of song, and yet he is not sailing away from it, but into it? Thanks.

The Turtles – You Know What I Mean Lyrics 11 months ago
Funny the guy above who loves the Turtles says this is one his least favorite of theirs, yet took the time to let us know. Be that as it may, I always thought this song was different but fell in love with it 20 years ago. I really, really, really love it, but I do not know how to describe why that is. It is so different than a conventional sixties pop song. Let's just say the melody is lovely, the singer Howard Kaylan has such an alluring voice on so many Turtles superstar songs, but the way this song is structured just makes me marvel. All I can say is I think it is so gorgeous and easily goes by unnoticed. ----- I actually think some of the Turtles songs are as beautiful as any by the great bands of thie sixties, absolutely! And that includes You Showed Me, Happy Together, She's My Girl, Somewhere Friday Night, Eleanor ---- and this one!
