The beginning of the song underscores how exhausted he is from trying to figure out why he is always failing. _____________________________________________ "On my last nerve" With how the song sounds, it seems as if he is closing his eyes and taking a deep breath to restrain himslef.. but what's on his last nerve? _____________________________________________ "I'll get what I deserve" He isn't saying he is waiting on consequences. It is a warning. He is determined to take what he has rightfully earned by force if it isn't given to him. _____________________________________________ He fails to restrain himself any longer when his aggravation erupts into anger and determination. As the chorus simultaneously explodes it flawlessly demonstrates the power of his emotion. _____________________________________________ "I need this, I want this" He never directly clarifies what he's referring to. Whatever it is, he is fixated on getting it. He admits it when he says "I'm so obsessed" and it seems as if this is involuntary and beyond his control. If you ask me, he's referring to recognition and appreciation for all of his efforts that have gone unrecognized. But he doesn't say. So no one knows. _____________________________________________ The second part of the song takes a dramatic turn. _____________________________________________ "I break the seal with my hands" With no options left, he breaks one of the 7 seals that keep the gates of Hell locked. He is so desparate and so determined to do whatever it takes to get what he is owed, he is willing to unleash Hell upon the world with his bare hands to do it. _____________________________________________ "My blood starts pumping" Fear and adrenaline have struck him at his core when he realizes there is no going back _____________________________________________ "Screams ring out so loud right now so deafening" I think he recieved a vision of what Hell is really like. This is when the screen goes black at the end of the movie because the rest of the song is repetition of things you have already heard. _____________________________________________ This next part is like a short clip that plays after the credits have ended, long after everyone has left the theater. As if he is driving a nail the rest of the way in for his own personal satisfaction. _____________________________________________ "You'll never forget my face" This as a final farewell. He either said it after he forcefully took what was rightfully his, or he let them keep it and said it before he abandoned them. _____________________________________________ "Pleasure in pain. I feel whole again." Is the part of the song that holds my theory together. I believe he is experiencing relief so powerful that it's impossible to measure as he throws his arms open against the world and embraces damnation. ____________________________________________ Chimaira is beyond subliminal with the Evil that serves as the foundation for their music. _____________________________________________ There are alot of bands who throw it right out front and then pretend it isn't there. Almost like a flirty girl who laughs when you tickle her, and then says stop as she moves closer to you. Lol. ____________________________________________ On the other hand, Chimaira actually disguises it, and they do it in a way that almost makes it completely unrecognizable unless you actually know what they are taking about. Every single concept will go right over your head unless you have been through similar experiences. _____________________________________________ In case you haven't noticed, there are no lyric videos for their songs on YouTube.
