| As a recovering alcoholic, this song resonates loudly with me. Akin to Randy's lyrics behind "King Me", I believe that this song attributes to the addict within one's self. Randy has stated multiple times in the past that he writes song lyrics for himself, not for others. That being said, I believe the inspiration for this song was him looking in the mirror, and "seeing" his addict side in the reflection. The whole song being sung to said reflection, essentially saying "you're never coming back out, you're dying with me To The Grave." This song has been a great asset in helping remind myself why I chose to sober up, and help me push that alcoholic within me even further down, essentially taking it to the grave with me. | |
