| @[interpretationdechanson:50369] it’s a reference to how many people have died in the name of religion, mainly Christianity. We claim that the Virgin Mary and a myriad of other figures in religious text are pure, meanwhile “if you don’t believe in the god I believe in, I’ll kill you.” We often misconstrue, which is easy to do when most religious texts are just one big game of telephone. Constant translation and twisting of the stories to fit our narrative have corrupted us. Much like materialism. Bananas make good food for thought. | |

I think this song is about an introvert or outcast who no one bothers speaking to. He goes out and feels unwelcome or like he doesn’t belong, and all the while wishes someone would just give him a chance and strike up conversation with him. “Give me just a little nod, I could fascinate you.” Is the narrators way of saying “you’d be surprised, just talk to me.” I think the chorus is more or less him talking to someone he meets at the gathering and finds attractive but can’t bring himself to initiate conversation A really beautiful song, it cements the feeling of otherness Reveal has. Nothing like they did before or did after. I wish they would’ve put in on the record Because it’s flawless otherwise. |
