The song's meaning is in the song's lyrics. Geezers, how silly can some of these answers get. Ian also gives a full description of the song in Made in Japan album. |

OMG, OK, the song is about their experiences on their 1st Japanese tour. This is when Made in Japan was recorded and Ian Gillan was quoted as saying that he along with other band members were treated graciously by the Japanese people that the song reflects mediforcally the great time they had on that tour. Maybe Ian was galivanting with Gisha girls but what happens in Japan stays in Japan. The song is definitely NOT about heroin as the band at the time was not into drugs. I don't think that Ritchie Blackmore ever smoked cigarettes, just your typical English tea toddler, while Ian Gillian was the English Boozer. As far as hard drugs...that came later with Hughs, Bolin and I think Jon and Coverdale kinda dabbled but far from being addicted. |
