| @[Afterglowz:46634] I wasn't clear about David's talk. He denied that it was about drugs, but his smile made me wonder. He said that he changed 7 miles to 8 because that number was used in songs. | |

I am less sure due to the comment of the earlier conception date that predates the trip to England. Crosby talked of the less than spectacular reception they had in England, but there is this smile on his face that, to me, equated with a wink. On their trip across the pond, they took little equipment and the crowd expected a bigger show. The song references small faces, which was a mod band playing a version of soul music. They said that they had once let it be known that they wanted to try LSD. One Sunday morning, a knock on the door left them a package: a laced orange. itchycoo Park is about this experience. I have thought that the song was an amalgamation of these two. Did one of the Byrd's provide that orange? |

| Judee Sill – The Kiss Lyrics | 2 years ago |
| In her preface to this song on her BBC recording, Judee said that the song was about melding of opposites. I am still sorting this out in my head. So much mentioned here seems to ring true. Judee seemed to consistently have deep Christian references, particularly Catholic, mixed with cosmic references that hedged toward the esoteric occult. She often sang of being let down in the past, but still hopeful that she would be rescued. | |
