If anyone has ever lived through or with addiction, this song seems to describe the place where the addiction becomes sin, when the addict knows exactly what they are doing and yet still can't stop. And so the cycle continues of being confronted by God providing a way out and the addict choosing the idol instead. It only ends in death. |

This song has to do with members of the band who struggle to believe in God when they see all the bad that happens to people. It can be painful to keep faith and not turn away from people who hurt and won't change (can't have it any other way). Acknowledging a person's pain and suffering and staying with that person through the pain and suffering are 2 different things. The first is hard enough and takes an open mind. The second can seem impossible and takes an open heart. |
