Song breaks my heart. I am a recovering addict going on 5 years. When I was at rock bottom this song I related to every word and really truly believed everyone would be better off without me. I know the Rev had heart issues and knew he wouldn’t live to be 80 years old, but I also thing the sex drugs and rock and roll lifestyle maybe had him partying and ended up using it to cope with stuff ( it happens to best of us) addiction does not discriminate. I also think BACK THEN addiction was just something MOST people didn’t talk about. We have come a LONG way but still need to come even further into the future. I know it’s a combo of the both but it’s clear he’s trying to say goodbye years before nightmare album and sadly years before his passing. Just wish things were different. Just hope he knows how much he was loved by his fellow band mates , their families and us fans. RIP king James |

Very simple; being on the road is hard , it’s not what you think it is. Missing loved ones, Always on the move. Must be really challenging. These musicians sacrifice so much and most don’t even realize it. |

I can’t help but feel this is a falling out of some sort. I don’t think it’s to the fans , don’t think it has anything to do with religion. Seems way more personal maybe family , close friend. I have read most of the comments still no clear answer to be honest. |
