Hmm... Very interesting interpretations, indeed... However, I believe that that the heroine of the song, "she", is actually California. As Manson said in one of his interviews, "So there'll be a lot on this record about the darkness behind the California smile." And he also said that the record was made after he moved to California and saw the shallowness of people that surrounded him - how they tried to escape from the world around them with the help of drugs, etc. Sorry if I don't make much sense, but try to find some interviews with him concerning Mechanical Animals, and I think you should understand. |

It is sort of amazing how lots of people can relate to such an abstract song. :) Me, I write a story, which turns out to be quite tragic, and this song is my primary source of inspiration for it.
Overall, I count this song to be the best on Holy Wood, if not the best Manson's song ever. |
