@[aanni_:46113] I never backmasked this song; haven't done any backmasking since the 80's...... Maybe I should break-out the old turntable?! Whether it's there or not, what is there is Layne's depression. Loved that guy, and sorry he checked out so early. Had they been able to stay on tour with Metallica and Layne could have overcome his heroin, AIC would have blown right past Nirvana, Pear Jam & all the rest of the Grunge bands...and even though the band's life (and Staley's & Hart's & Cobain's, etc) was short-lived, they still kicked ass! Jerry Campbell's guitar on the studio version of Nutshell is absolutely haunting, and without it I doubt any of us would be on here debating the meaning of Nutshell's lyrics. Maybe some day Layne's mom will find the hand written version of Nutshell and it'll have Layne's notes on it....wouldn't that be the bomb!!! |
