I think right from the star, Donovan lets us know that he is singing this song, from the perspective of a woman who fears that she is going to be left by her lover, despite the fact that she is expecting his baby. It is a very sensitive lyric and I wonder whether it is semi autobiographical. Writing a song about himself through the eyes of his lover is an amazing concept. Donovan is an amazing artist and has enriched many peoples lives with this music. |
