I interpret it as a song about a depressed couple, either drifting towards or having had broken up, when the individual singing has a moment of realization of what is or has happened and how it's not what they wanted nor should it have happened. They are now trying to convince their partner to forget about the bad times because their good times shouldn't be over, but their partner is telling them it's too late. Basically I see it as a song about rekindling love. |
