Weezer – Hash Pipe Lyrics 2 years ago
I understand the plot, a trans prostitute who is into drugs. It's the meaning that I'm failing at. I think it's a warning note to sleepy things like perversion and drugs, but I may well be too surface level.

Nirvana – You Know You're Right Lyrics 2 years ago
Even if theories of his suicide are true, this song shows a desperate need for a help that can't be fulfilled with the way Kurt lived. He needed solace from someone who was understanding, and his death, regardless of how, shows the brutal cycle that Hollywood has for musicians. His contracts kept him in line and in concert; furthemore the tendency toward drugs and unaffordable life styles for big musicians had a sway on Kurt that his work perpetuated. I really would rather have never heard of him or at least only ever gotten one album or one song then him die in the emotional place that he was.

Now for personal opinion: I think that this IS a suicide song. 'You know you're right', the elunenergetic, put down end to an argument. 'I will never bother you' and 'I have never failed to fail' a feeling of burden not uncommon amongst suicidal patients. 'I no longer have to hide' his final release and somewhat of closure of his emotions. He didn't WANT help, that's why it's cryptic, and why the meaning is somewhat abstract, but this is what I've found from it. God bless all.

Weezer – Lullaby For Wayne Lyrics 2 years ago
Seems to me like what it sounds like. Graduation is an important theme that some are missing though. This is from an odd omniomnicent perspective, telling a alumni that it's too late to 'convince' his peers; That he shouldn't try to attempt a shooting. The nod to the house wife further drives a depressing theme of hopelessness. I wish I had the right verbs to express it exactly, but it's an emotion that surpasses any that a sane man really could describe. I suppose that's the intriguing element of it, the art. Shame that it's not such a hit, it's a more emotional piece than 'pumped up kicks' with more meaning, and in my opinion kind of sounds better, but I digress. Point being, this is seemingly about a highschool grad who never got help, and rather than having a shooting, he runs out of time. It's really the implied emotion that makes this song. God bless all.
